When people think of clinical careers in the NHS, the first thing that springs to mind is of Doctors and Nurses, however there are so many other options available.  Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) are a family of healthcare practitioners that work to ensure adults and children can live the fullest lives possible by helping them live with or recover from health problems. 

This webinar is designed for students years 7 – 13 and will provide participants with an overview of the 15 AHPs, the benefits of being an AHP and answer any questions that students may have.

Courses such as medicine are incredibly popular with students and where there is popularity there is competition. With as many as 10 applicants for every one place at a medical school, medicine is one of the most competitive courses in the UK. This is why it is important to have a backup plan in place and to consider the Allied health professions. This webinar will focus on helping you create a plan covering key considerations, and introducing a number of possible alternative clinical roles where you will still be able to make a difference to patients’ lives.

We will explain course fees and grants available, as well as the NHS salaries scale and routes to study. Throughout we will highlight key considerations relevant to mature and career change students. We will also be able to answer any questions that you may have.
