Looking back at 2020 – I See The Difference reflects
23rd December 2020
We have come to the end of what has been an extraordinary year. As we approach Christmas, we have been reflecting on what has changed in 2020, and what we have learned.
The importance of these careers has been reinforced, particularly this year. Frontline health care workers are medical professionals, delivering essential or routine medical treatment. This describes many AHPs.
We learned Dietitians are essential to the nutrition and recovery of a COVID-19 patient. Podiatrists are treating high risk patients and preventing hospital admissions. Radiographers are called to the frontline as the Covid-19 disease management relies heavily on imaging, with the focus on chest x-rays and CT. Speech and Language therapists are helping patients recover normal everyday functions such as talking, eating, and drinking. Thousands of final year health students bravely volunteered their support for the health and social care system during the coronavirus crisis. Our health professionals have been making a real difference during the pandemic.
The team, unable to visit schools, changed their approach and reached pupils through webinars instead. Due to dedication and hard work, we have reached 2500 people through engaging webinars. Helping even more people to explore some great content about AHP careers.
As a thank you for supporting our work, we share our AHP advent calendar.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year from I See the Difference!
